Honor of Kings: Official Confirmation of Damos’ Leo Skin Release Date, Players Criticize Hero Weakness

The release schedule for new skins in Honor of Kings has recently slowed down, giving players some breathing room. The official announcements for upcoming skins have been made, with only a few scheduled for release in March. During the Goddess Festival, a new skin for Zhuang Zhou was launched at a relatively low price, prompting many players to purchase it immediately. Recently, Honor of Kings released an official poster teasing the next skin.
The image above features a chibi version of Wu Ling Xian Jun, transformed into a March calendar. A doctoral cap marks the Goddess Festival, symbolizing the release of Zhuang Zhou’s new skin. On March 29th, a distinct symbol appears—clearly resembling a zodiac constellation. Based on earlier leaks, this is highly likely to be Damos’ highly anticipated Leo skin.
A quick search for the Leo constellation confirms the symbol’s identity. In Honor of Kings, the only connection to Leo is Damos’ upcoming skin, which has been rumored for quite some time. This skin is part of a collaboration with Saint Seiya, similar to Hou Yi’s Sagittarius Gold Saint skin released previously.
The leaked design, as shown above, depicts Damos adorned in golden armor with a flowing white cape. While in-game models haven’t been revealed yet, it’s reasonable to expect something along the lines of Hou Yi’s Sagittarius skin—perhaps even a shirtless AR camera model. Interestingly, Damos’ default appearance is already that of a muscular, bare-chested monk. If priced at 1688 coupons, this skin might struggle to attract buyers.
Why Players Are Hesitant
The most significant issue is Damos’ current perceived weakness in the game. Many players feel he’s underwhelming in casual matches, making him a less appealing choice. Additionally, Damos already has the popular “Fist King” skin, which many players adore. So far, the new Leo skin hasn’t shown enough unique features to justify purchasing it.
Visually, the Leo skin bears a strong resemblance to Hou Yi’s Sagittarius skin in terms of outfit and color scheme—just swap the wings for a cape. The gold-dominated palette also draws comparisons to Yang Jian’s Egyptian Pharaoh skin. With the hero considered weak and the skin deemed unoriginal, the general player sentiment is a resounding “pass.”
What Could Change Minds?
The “Fist King” skin, priced at just 60 coupons, is widely regarded as excellent value. For the Leo skin to compete, it needs standout elements that the current design lacks. The developers still have an opportunity to win players over by refining the in-game model and skill effects. If these aspects are impressive enough, the skin’s appeal—and consequently, its sales—could see a significant boost.
As a Leo, you naturally gravitate toward excellence and distinctiveness. This skin, in its current state, might not meet those high standards. But if the final version showcases the grandeur and power befitting a Leo—through stunning visual effects and impactful animations—it could still capture your interest. Would you consider purchasing it if those improvements were made?
